One of the most memorable Star Wars games is making a comeback! Originally released for the PlayStation and Dreamcast in 2000, Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is set to return with enhanced versions on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on January 23.
The Return of a Star Wars Classic
Priced at $19.99 (the euro equivalent is yet to be confirmed), this updated release allows players to relive a nostalgic action-platformer that originally debuted on the PlayStation. Despite its imperfections, the game holds a special place in the hearts of many Star Wars fans.
In Jedi Power Battles, players guide iconic Jedi such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, and Plo Koon through linear levels, battling enemies and navigating platforming challenges.
New Features and Enhancements
This new version for modern consoles and PC includes all of the original content, as well as:
- Additional minigames and new playable characters.
- All previously secret characters unlocked from the start.
- The ability to switch between the classic control scheme and a modern, revised one, addressing the original game’s control issues that made platforming sections frustrating for many players.
Furthermore, this release incorporates all the extra content from the Dreamcast version and retains the beloved local co-op mode for two players, one of the game’s most cherished features.
Whether you’re revisiting this classic or experiencing it for the first time, Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is shaping up to be a must-play for fans of the franchise.
